I'm attempting to help a friend re-home her dog, as the process is quite overwhelming for her. Jules deserves to be in an environment more fitting to her breed (Great Pyrenees). Being cooped up in a house while the owner is away for work for 10-12 hours a day is not a fitting lifestyle. Nor is doggy daycare, followed by minimal activity in a limited environment at home. This breed needs to be outside, on a reasonable amount of property, with a job to do. Her instincts are strong and unfortunately, are not a good fit for her current placement. She is housebroken, and has received training, responds well to basic commands.
Jules gets along well with other dogs. However, she is food aggressive and needs to be fed in an isolated environment. If she acquires food from an unintended source, it would be wise to let her finish it and mitigate the outside source in the future.
